------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mon May 13 12:42:39 UTC 2024 - Refreshed gfs46/current +--------------------------+ Sat May 11 20:32:55 UTC 2024 - Refreshed gfs46/current +--------------------------+ Fri May 10 10:13:44 UTC 2024 - Refreshed gfs46/current +--------------------------+ Sat May 4 21:04:31 UTC 2024 - Updated latest gfs46/current - Changed gfs repo to my mirror while main is down Wed May 1 19:07:58 UTC 2024 - Really updated this time. +--------------------------+ Tue Apr 30 17:48:07 UTC 2024 - Updated to 4/29/24 current - Updated latest gfs46 +--------------------------+ Mon Apr 29 22:02:50 UTC 2024 - Refreshed ISO. - Added official firefox 125.0.2 package. - Setup openrc-settingsd enabled at boot. - Added user/group for rtkit. +--------------------------+ Mon Apr 22 17:16:27 UTC 2024 - Upgraded system to GFS46 - GNOME 46.0! - up-to-date with current . - Shipping only Epiphany web browser, can install mozilla-firefox ESR or check the extras folder for the latest 125.0.1 release. Issues: slackpkg & default session - I've not included the gnupg2 package, users need to turn off CHECKGPG in slackpkg.conf run slackpkg update/slackpkg install gnupg2, then turn back on CHECKGPG, and slackpkg should work normally. - Session defaults to "Gnome Classic", use the gear within GDM to change to "Gnome on Wayland" for the normal session. Change is sticky. Will fix these issues in a later revision. +--------------------------+ Tue Mar 5 14:11:03 UTC 2024 - Added some default xdg dirs into the live skel. - Fixed most (if not all) dep issues. - up-to-date with current. +--------------------------+ Wed Feb 28 00:46:06 UTC 2024 - xdg-user-dirs-update appears broken, you'll need to make the xdg dirs yourself, I'll fix that soon. (tm) - there is missing deps for 'metadata-editor' which are not in the GFS repo, so it's broken. - transmission-{gtk,qt} needs some of the blacklisted *mm packages, my initial tests of including them broke GNOME, YMMV. It should build against stock Slackware just fine from SBo. - This ISO removes the XAP package set, also I've processed the ISO with a liveslak "TRIM=waste" (which I edited to keep manpages), to keep the ISO size slimmer. - slapt-get/gslapt are included but are not configured. - I've updated the "extra" modules to up-to-date versions. +--------------------------+ Tue Jan 9 15:39:59 UTC 2024 Latest Changes: - updated to latest -current - gfs45 as of 1/8/24 +--------------------------+ Tue Jan 2 09:56:24 UTC 2024 - Happy New Year! - latest slackware64-current - latest GFS repo - kernel 6.6.9 - fixed Amberol opening instead of Nautilus for file actions - disabled the "Welcome to GNOME" training - removed freeware DOOM stuff - removed broadcom-wl from extras/ (it's included on ISO) - updated extras/ & added Librewolf +--------------------------+ This liveslak ISO is a semi-stripped down Slackware installation with a complete GNOME Desktop. This is the same system you can achieve by installing the GFS repository locally, only portable. I've edited AlienBob's liveslak script to tailor it to the GNOME environment, and as such, it boots to GDM to which you login to GNOME from within. This uses Slackware's SysVinit system, GNOME is patched for elogind and operates like a normal Slackware install. Updates are done occasionally to the ISO system itself, but you are always free to keep it up to date with slackpkg+ (included). We ship the full base GNOME Desktop to which you may add many extra apps by installing the full set including the "GNOME World" applications by invoking: 'slackpkg install gnome' as the root user. To keep the ISO size sane I've omitted many pkgsets from a full install, dropping the pkgsets e,f,k,kde,t, much of xap, and xfce. Anything you need from them is installable with 'slackpkg' as you normally would. All documentation for AlienBob's liveslak works just the same here. 'iso2usb.sh' will write the ISO with persistence, 'upslak.sh' will add local modules (and process kernel updates) to a squashfs file, 'setup2hd.sh' will install the OS to your hdd...etc. Please read the official docs for more info: https://docs.slackware.com/slackware:liveslak Login info: user account: live, passwd: live root account: root, passwd: root Also my website for more bits, changes, or contacting me: https://slackware.lngn.net/ And, of course, the GFS repo(s): https://reddoglinux.ddns.net/ Compatible with Ventoy thanks to AlienBOBs work!
