aterm has one bit of weird (default) behaviour that I find rather annoying.

imagine you're typing a commandline of great length & you notice..

[foo@bar ~]$ echo the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. the quick bro
< brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. the quick brow                         
< brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. the quick brown fox jumped over the laz  
< lazy dog. the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy

..horizontal scrolling from hell.

if you'd rather have..

[foo@bar ~]$ echo the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. the quick brown 
fox jumped over the lazy

..this, it's easy enough to fix.

simply add the following line to your ~/.Xdefaults

Aterm*termName:		xterm
