kmp3burn is a kde frontend for cdrecord.
So you need

KDE
cdrecord

To get tag informations

Taglib

For decoding, you must have installed aKode
aKode (Audio decoding library)

To create an Image, and for resampling is sox needed
SOX (universal sound sample translator)

Normalize
Normalize is a tool for adjusting the volume of audio files to a standard level.
This is useful for things like creating music CD's and mp3 collections,
where different recording levels on different albums can cause the volume
to vary greatly from song to song.

k3b's libraries 0.11
Though it is not a requirement, kmp3burn can make use of k3b's libraries
to autodetec CD burners. This may be necessary to make some more obscure devices work.
You can get k3b from www.k3b.org. You will need to install from source or install
k3b development files if you are using a binary package and you want to compile kmp3burn.

Expext problems if you are use suse linux > 9.2
mp3 codecs are missing there. In this case do for suse 10.1 the follow things:
SuSE use /opt/kde3 as default dir. Set the correct kde path by link:
ln -s /opt/kde3 /usr/local/kde

Uninstall by YAST all kde multimedia stuff.
Install then in this order the follow packets by sources:

libogg-1.1.3
flac-1.1.3
Madlib
aKode-2.0
Taglib-1.4

then install kdemultimedia:

kdemultimedia-3.5

run ldconfig
and finally install

kmp3kurn-0.3.4

bunzip2 Kmp3burn-0.3.x.tar.bz2
tar xf Kmp3burn-0.3.x.tar
cd Kmp3burn
configure
make
su to root
make install

If you get an errormessage like this:
libtool: Cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libjack.la'
it means, that libartskde can't be linked to libjack.
That's an Distribution specific problem.
Try to compile and install libartskde by yourself.
When you are use Suse-Linux just try to install the paket jack-devel by yast.
This RPM Package is in: Develop/Libaries/C and C++.

When starting first time, its necessary to set the config datas,
in the config window.
Set your SCSI-Device, default is /dev/cdrom:


/dev/cdrom
/dev/hda
/dev/hdc

You can set the switch "dummy" to test your configuration.

Next entry is the directory, your mp3files will be searched for. The default is /
To make things easier, set the dir, your mp3s are stored.
Next entry is the speed factor for the writing process
Default is 8.
After setting this values, you can browse in a simple way your directories,
All files from an open dir appear in the left listbox, with playtime and name.
Or use Drag and Drop to put files from Konqueror or juK to Kmp3kurn.
Selected files can be dropt with the Right-Button in the second listbox.
There you store all mp3-files, which should be fixed later on an audio CD.
With the Up and Down buttons you can change the sequence of the mp3list.

At bottom of the Listbox, you see the total playtime for all selected songs
Keep in mind, that the songs all fit on your storage medium.

If you not able to compile, install, can't work well,
or if you get much trouble by finding the right configuration for your system,
may there is still a bug in Kmp3burn, and I am interesting to fix it,
